New Years Day 2014 will set the tone for the entire year.
Pay close attention to what happens on this day, be present and listen to your intuition.
Pluto is prominent at this New Moon and Pluto is symbolic of deep, intense transformation. In the ancient world Pluto/Hades was the Ruler of the Underworld, all that lies underneath. Pluto is also about power, and control; powerlessness, and surrender.
Death, transformation, new life and great wealth are all gifts of Pluto.
When Pluto contacts a personal point or planet in one’s chart, the energy eradicates what is no longer conducive to our soul’s evolution; be it personal or collective or both. Many times the ego and soul are in conflict about what is no longer part of our Spiritual growth; as the ego wants stability and known factors, deep change can be terrifying, and the ego attempts to hold on and control what is happening. Unfortunately, this can cause much pain and grief and change happens regardless of what the ego wants. We must discern the wisdom of when to fight for and when to let go.

This New Year’s Day New Moon heralds a Cardinal Cross, associated with the element of Fire, it is quite dynamic and instigates action. The Sun, Moon, Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth) all occupy the same degree, this is a potent configuration. Mars at 11 degrees Libra (Cardinal-Air) squares this stubborn Capricorn New Moon and amps up the energy; there will be many, many fireworks this New Years Eve.
The other planets involved in the Cardinal Cross, are Uranus at 8 degrees Aries (Cardinal-Fire), and Jupiter is a little further away at 16 degrees Cancer (Cardinal-Water).
Although not part of this New Moon conjunction, Venus is also traveling through Capricorn, she is retrograde, and during this time we are rethinking love, beauty, relationships; when a planet retrogrades it brings about reflection of the energies that planet embodies. It presents us with a good time to look inward, and examine our motives, our concerns.
There may be issues at this New Moon that are related to the October 4th 2013 New Moon, recurring echoes related to another Cardinal Cross, with all the same players, only a slight variation in positions. Take care this New Years Eve, have fun and pay attention.
