Doom: I say Nay, Nay
There has been a spate of celebrity deaths over the last few weeks. John Pinette was a comedian I used to listen to quite often; I had a job that put me in my car for long periods of time and I would listen to comedy channels. Mr. Pinette was one of my favorites. He was known for his self-deprecating humor, and using the line “I say Nay Nay,” to express his disagreement. He was one of the few comedians these days, who was funny without using vulgarity or misogyny in his routine. Thank you for making many of us laugh, Mr. Pinette, may you find Peace and Light on your journey.
There has been much written about April 2014, much doom and gloom. I have read some other posts that suggest not to make any big decisions during Eclipse season, as decisions made at this time never work out. Well to borrow Mr. Pinette’s line, I say Nay Nay.
Lunar Eclipses are akin to Full Moons on steroids, the energy brings a culmination of events started long ago and/or initiates action where action is needed. Change is scary for many of us, even “good” changes. The Ego seeks security and routine, this is a greatly needed function for our psychic survival. However, the Soul operates on an entirely different level seeking Spiritual growth, and this usually occurs through great change. And although these changes are not always easy for the Ego to process, major decisions and changes bring us growth and are part of the reason we are here, to learn and grow. Embrace change and honor your Intuition, we are all affected differently by the energies, and for many of us, it might be a wonderful time to make big changes in our lives.
“According to an old proverb, it is only in times of despair that the pupil seeks the teacher. This illustrates that suffering and disappointment are not only indispensable for spiritual and psychological development, but in the end also have healing properties.”
The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at this Eclipse speaks to the polarization of our consciousness, and that in the end, there is no difference between good and bad experiences, all we are, all we do, is leading us back to the source-LOVE.
The Sabian Symbol for the MOON at the FULL MOON ECLIPSE on April 15, 2014:
(LIBRA 26) AN EAGLE AND A LARGE WHITE DOVE CHANGE INTO EACH OTHER
[Keynote: The interaction of the spiritual Will and of the Love principle when critical needs arise.]
Consciousness operates beyond duality, because the polarized energies of the Soul (or Spirit), Will and Love, though ever distinct, work for a single purpose.
The Sabian Symbol for the SUN at the FULL MOON ECLIPSE on April 15, 2014:
(ARIES 26) A MAN POSSESSED BY MORE GIFTS THAN HE CAN HOLD
[Keynote: Obsession by potentiality.]
The Moon at 26 Libra (Cardinal-Air) is joined with the Asteroid Goddesses Ceres, Vesta, and the transiting North-Node. Ceres and Vesta represent issues of Hearth and Home. The transiting North-Node represents new directions in our lives.
The Sun at 26 Aries (Cardinal-Fire) is joined by the Asteroid Goddess Juno and transiting South-Node, indicating issues of Hearth and Home may be in conflict with our Committed Relationships.
Mercury is in an exact conjunction with Uranus at 14 Aries (Cardinal-Fire), squaring Pluto at 14 Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth). This could bring unexpected information or insight into an issue or situation that has proved difficult.
Venus in Pisces (Mutable-Water), moves between Neptune and Chiron, providing love and support for our continued healing. Venus’ position is strong at this Lunation as she is exalted in Pisces and the ruler of this Lunar Eclipse. Venus is associated with many things, but above all she is LOVE and in Pisces her energy is inclusive and forgiving. Neptune is the higher octave of Venus and together, there is much support at this Lunar Eclipse for Unconditional Love and Forgiveness.
This Lunar Eclipse mirrors the Lunar Eclipse in October 2013, what was happening in your life then that is connected to what is happening in your life now?
The action starts on April 15th when the full Moon passes through the amber shadow of Earth, producing a midnight eclipse visible across North America. So begins a lunar eclipse tetrad—a series of 4 consecutive total eclipses occurring at approximately six month intervals. The total eclipse of April 15, 2014, will be followed by another on Oct. 8, 2014, and another on April 4, 2015, and another on Sept. 28 2015.
“The most unique thing about the 2014-2015 tetrad is that all of them are visible for all or parts of the USA,” says longtime NASA eclipse expert Fred Espenak.
The Eclipse occurs around midnight on April 15th, Monday the 14th will be an intense day, as the Moon and Mercury make multiple aspects, and Pluto Stations Retrograde. Cooler heads will prevail.
As the Cardinal Grand Cross moves into exact position on April 21 & 22, we feel the energies amplify, emotions will be over the top, there will be many acting out their unconscious issues, anger, sadness, joy, and Love; remember we are Spiritual Beings in a time of great change, look to the Eagle and the Dove.
As always, Stay in Your Heart…
In Love & Light,
We find ourselves in these last days of March 2014, already feeling the Transformative energies of the April Eclipse Season.
This is how April will feel, only most of us won’t be at an amusement park.
Although, the hardest hit will be people with prominent middle degrees of the Cardinal signs, everyone will experience the energy of Transformation.
There is still the missing plane, a horrific mudslide in the state of Washington, and Russia continues to play out old world politics, with unwarranted aggression toward Ukraine. There are many who would prefer the way of control, domination, dictatorship, suppression. But the energies of Transformation are upon us and are more powerful than any earthly government or leader. There are many changes, some scary, some exciting, some good, and some not-so-good.
The key is to meet the challenges presented to us, with Grace, Love and Kindness, no matter what we are experiencing.
The Sabian Symbol for the NEW MOON on March 30, 2014:
(Aries 10) A TEACHER GIVES NEW SYMBOLIC FORMS TO TRADITIONAL IMAGES
[Keynote: Revision of attitude at the beginning of a new cycle of experience.]
The New Moon is closely conjunct Uranus and the Asteroid Goddess Juno in the middle degrees of Aries (Cardinal-Fire). This fiery New Moon squares Jupiter at 12 Cancer (Cardinal-Water) and Pluto at 14 Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth). In the early hours of April 2, the Sun moves into an exact conjunction with Uranus; the days between March 30-April 2 will be intense.
As Juno is joined with Uranus at this New Moon, look for unexpected developments in relationships, particularly romantic partnerships; emotions will be over the top (Jupiter in Cancer), minds will change, what was over, may now have a second chance, those who thought everything was fine, may have their world turned upside down. Be prepared for ANYTHING TO HAPPEN.
Mercury is traveling through Pisces (Mutable-Water) and is close to Chiron, the Wounded Healer. There will be much communication of feelings (Mercury/Chiron trine Jupiter in Cancer) and processing painful situations which will ultimately lead to bringing forth and healing deeply buried wounds of the Heart.
Mars in Libra (Cardinal-Air) is retrograde, as is Saturn in Scorpio (Fixed-Water). Mars provokes action and Saturn builds structures, be it of body or mind; with these two retrograde, there is an odd feeling to the transformative energies. There is a great deal of forward motion, yet there is an unsettled quality, we are afraid to take that big step, it does not feel like the right moment and we hesitate. Venus in Aquarius (Fixed-Air) trines Mars and squares Saturn. There is action, but restricted in some way, there is opportunity, but the center may not hold, and the structures may crumble under the grind of Transformation.
April will prove to be a challenging month for ALL OF US, stay grounded and centered. Remember that we are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER, those of us aware, and those not-so aware; keep your wits about you, stay calm and trust that you can handle anything that comes your way.
Hang on-we are in for a wild ride this Eclipse Season.
As always, Stay in Your Heart…
In Love & Light,
Fly, Fly Away
As the Sun joins Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, a plane goes missing over the sea, an apt image that exemplifies the Neptunian/Piscean energy of this lunar cycle. Mysterious, shrouded in secrecy, possible terrorism, possibly it was way off course when it disappeared from radar.
The smoke and mirrors continue in our government, it seems as though one of the biggest defenders of the NSA surveillance did not like it when her computers were spied on? Uranus/Pluto square continuing to bring to light what is hidden and obscured by the cloak and dagger antics of the CIA, yes Senator Feinstein, its always different when it happens to you…
The energies this month are strange, these are strange days, things don’t feel quite right, they, whoever they are keep telling us the economy is getting better, things are picking up, yet it does not feel this way…open your eyes and look around.
The dream of humanity, when are we going to wake up? Caught up in the ego of materialism, things are more important than qualities…how it looks always more important than substance.
The Full Moon on March 16, 2014 mirrors the Full Moon of September 19, 2013. What was happening in your life then? And how does it relate to what is happening now?
The Sabian Symbol for the FULL MOON on March 16, 2014
(Virgo 26) A BOY WITH A CENSER SERVES THE PRIEST NEAR THE ALTAR.
[Keynote: The first stage of actual participation in the great ritual of planetary evolution.]
He must learn to serve, humbly and with intense attention, in what as yet is beyond his spiritual understanding. He learns to perform every action superpersonally. He learns to PRACTICE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
As the Sabian Symbols are symbolic in essence, the priest and altar boy are metaphors for service, mindfulness; to know and understand on some level there is a presence in the universe much greater than ourselves, a presence so unfathomable, yet so subtle that to receive even the smallest glimpse, we must pay attention. We must be here, be present in all moments of our lives.
No matter where you and what you are doing, and no matter how small or insignificant the task: be conscious, be mindful, pay attention, be present.
The Sun in Pisces (Mutable-water) trines Saturn Rx in Scorpio (Fixed-water), providing us with emotional support from our network of friends and family. Unconditional Love is a wonderful gift, let us all aspire to this in all our endeavors. Let go of judgment and accept the flaws in ourselves and the ones we love. Move through the world with Grace and acceptance of all our encounters and with all those we come in contact with everyday.
True Service seeks no reward.
Mars Rx travels back through Libra (Cardinal-Air), and is joined by the North Node, Vesta, and Ceres (in early Scorpio), they are all retrograde. The Sun and Mars (and those traveling with him) form an inconjunct aspect, this means adjustments of some sort are in play. Where are we making adjustments in our life? Relationships? Partnerships? Jobs? Home?
Mercury is in direct motion moving through the late degrees of Aquarius (Fixed-Air) and at this Full Moon is in the 29th degree, a Karmic degree. Perhaps information will come to light at this Full Moon to change something important to us, or perhaps to all of us.
Venus, the LightBringer travels through Aquarius, filtering the Rays of the New Age, the Age of Brotherhood, Enlightenment, and Understanding that we are All One, we are all aspects of Love, in its many guises.
Uranus in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn, and Jupiter in Cancer are forming a T-Square, and though not exact, the energies are still in play, and we are feeling the transformation.
This will be an intense Full Moon, a precursor of the intensely transformative energies that await in the April Eclipse Season.
Hold on and let go! It’s a paradox and a riddle, its life on Planet Earth!
As always, Stay in Your Heart…
In Love & Light,
The Sabian Symbol for the Pisces New Moon:
(Pisces 11) MEN TRAVELING A NARROW PATH, SEEKING ILLUMINATION
[Keynote: The capacity inherent in every individual to seek at whatever cost entrance to a transcendent realm of reality.]
The Path is always open to the pure in heart, the mentally aware, the conqueror of emotions and the spiritually self-mobilized.
Man is always making and remaking. He can always go further, reach beyond. But he has to take the first step. Someone can show him the Path, but he alone must do the walking. Thus the Zen injunction: WALK ON.
As the Sun moves through the watery realms of Pisces and joins Neptune on the 23rd of February, we feel the transformation of our world upon us.
Transformation is the keyword for the past week. Violent struggles in Kiev, rumblings of civil unrest in Venezuela; the energies of the Uranus/Pluto square doing its work on our collective psyche.
“The greatest revolution in our generation is that of human beings, who by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.”
In the Tropical Zodiac, Pisces is the 12th sign; the culmination of lessons learned traversing the Wheel, it is the Sea of Electric Blue consciousness which knows no boundaries, we float in oneness with All That Is, unconditional Love and Golden Light swirl in us and through us; for here is peace.
But in fact, we are in the body, and though at certain times throughout our lives, we may have extraordinary experiences and glimpse the Electric Blue Sea of Consciousness, for the most part we are immersed in density. With all the limitations and lessons, our mission is to learn and understand, and most importantly, to LOVE.
The New Moon occurs at 11 Pisces (Mutable-Water) and exactly trines Jupiter at 11 Cancer (Cardinal-Water) and is sandwiched between Neptune at 6 Pisces and Chiron at 14 Pisces. There are many emotions floating in the collective consciousness at this time, and as Pisces seeks a higher expression, we here on Gaia, may feel dreamy, foggy; crystalline focus is elusive, our mind wanders and our imaginations are expansive. For artists this is an excellent time for allowing the Divine to manifest on the canvas or for a new melody to come into being.
Although Mercury is in Aquarius (Fixed-Air), on the day of the New Moon, our Trickster friend is Stationing Direct, and will further add to the fogginess of the day.
To add to the strangeness, several hours after the New Moon, early on March 1st, Mars in Libra (Cardinal-Air) Stations Retrograde. As Mars makes an about face, he is conjunct the North Node, Asteroid Goddesses Vesta (also Station Retrograde on March 1st) and Ceres, and in a tight square with Venus as she moves through the late degrees of Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth). There may be issues with hearth and home, what we want and what makes us feel safe may be threatened in some way.
And on March 2nd, Saturn at 23 Scorpio Stations Retrograde. Saturn in Scorpio is in its detriment. Scorpio (Fixed-Water) as a water sign, has difficulty with boundaries and Saturn seeks structure. In Scorpio Saturn stirs up deep emotions about resources, what is MINE, what is YOURS.
Also at this New Moon, Jupiter in Cancer is exactly Square Uranus at 11 Aries. Later in the week on the March 6th, Jupiter will turn Direct. With all these energies changing direction and the Sun in Pisces, it will feel like a surreal roller-coaster ride. Who said what, who is in charge (of the Ukraine), minds changed, and indecision abounds. With Pisces the optimal route is to surrender and go with the flow, as we know, before long the Sun will move into Aries, a better time for action and forward motion.
During this Pisces Moon Cycle, allow yourself to be a conduit for creativity, imagination, and for Divine Love to flow through you and into the world and all those around you.
As always, Stay in Your Heart…
In Love & Light,
The Sabian Symbol for the FULL MOON on February 14, 2014:
(LEO 27) THE LUMINESCENCE OF DAWN IN THE EASTERN SKY
[Keynote: The exalting challenge of new opportunities at the threshold of a new cycle.]
LET THE GAMES BEGIN
It appears there are many games in play at this Aquarian Full Moon. The much anticipated Winter Olympics in Russia, Venus/Mars dance of Valentines Day, and the game of the ever shifting influx of energies, that appears to be changing the game of reality entirely.
On February 6th Mercury stationed retrograde in Pisces (Mutable-Water), very close to Neptune. Neptune as the Ruler of Pisces is exalted here, and at its most powerful. As we have learned Neptune and Pisces are associated with glamour, smoke and mirrors, illusions, drugs (altered states of reality), foggy thinking and is not the most effective energy for astute decision making. Massive extermination of dogs in Sochi, strange rumors of conspiracy about collusion between Olympic athletes, and our beloved Philip Seymour Hoffman who died of a drug overdose on February 2nd.
As reality continues to shift around us and in us, the ebb and flow of energy increases and recedes. Neptune (Pisces) is the sea of Electric Blue Consciousness, and its energy seeks a higher level of expression. When traveling with Mercury, (the planet associated with our thought process and communication) in the brutal reality of Planet Earth, bad decisions abound. Mercury will back into Aquarius on February 12th, and at this Valentine Full Moon, will be within 1 degree of its placement at the New Moon on January 30th.
What was happening in your life at this last New Moon that relates to this week? What decisions were made, plans put forth, people met?
What games are you playing?
As Valentines Day is upon us the romantic dance is in full force, and usually this is the arena where we can make the worst mistakes, or as some would say, working out our Karma, or working out our projections. Whatever the case may be, it is most certainly the arena, where illusion, driven by desire, runs rampant.
What can we do? When desire enters our realm, it is difficult to remain rational and make well thought out decisions.
The Soul desires….
“Most of us are pawns in a game of love we don’t understand.”
~ Leo F. Buscaglia
The Sabian Symbol for this Valentine Full Moon speaks to new beginnings and opportunities.
What do the planets say?
As already mentioned above, The Sun and Mercury at 27-28 Aquarius (Fixed-Air) are traveling together and are Trine Mars at 27 Libra (Cardinal-Air). This aspect supports new beginnings and action in relationship. However, the Sun/Mercury is also square to Saturn at 24 Scorpio (Fixed-Water) so the action we desire might not go exactly as we want; in other words there will restrictions on our desire. Saturn in the Traditional Ruler of Aquarius, and as such, his energy is very strong at this Full Moon.
Venus in Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth) has blessed us with direct motion, however she is widely square to Mars in Libra, this may present further difficulty in the dance of romance at this Valentine Full Moon.
Uranus at 11 Aries (Cardinal-Fire) is close to an exact square with Jupiter at 12 Cancer (Cardinal-Water), expect some surprises as well!
And finally, the transiting Nodes of the Moon will change signs on February 18th. The transiting North-Node has been in Scorpio (Fixed-Water) and South-Node has been in Taurus (Fixed-Earth) for the past 18 months. The Nodes are connected to Karma, fated encounters, and turning points. For the past 18 months, resources and intense emotional struggles have been in play. As the Nodes travel backward through the Zodiac, the North Node will move into Libra and the South Node into Aries. The upcoming Lunar Eclipse on April 15th will be very potent as it will occur close to the degree of the transiting Nodes.
As Scorpio/Taurus are fixed signs, there also may be a collective feeling of being stuck; in a job, relationship, or situation for the last two years. The energy of Aries/Libra is Cardinal (an initiating quality) and new beginnings and movement will abound…
As always, Stay in Your Heart…
In Love & Light,
YEAR OF THE WOOD HORSE
The Chinese New Year occurs on January 31, 2014, the day after the New Moon in Aquarius. What do the Ancestors proclaim for The Year of the Wood Horse?
2012 brought us The Year of the Water Dragon, and 2013, The Year of the Water Snake. Water is the element of emotion, internal, flowing, reflective and Yin. The Dragon and Snake represent transformation, what have the last two years transformed in your life? A good word to sum up the past few years: INTENSE
And now we enter the Wood element, associated with Yang, the male, active principle. As we all know wood comes from Trees; Tree are solidly connected to the earth, they are rooted, tall and strong. Every spring Trees bloom with new life, and when cut down, provide that which Fire needs to transform from the Material to the Ethereal. Horse symbolizes nobility, strength and grace in motion. Perhaps, Horse will bless us in 2014, with upward movement into a higher level of consciousness.
The image included in this post is the Horsehead Nebula, this celestial configuration is located in the constellation of Orion, The Hunter. Many of us are familiar with the very visible “Belt of Orion” in the Northern Hemisphere night sky. The Great Hunter is associated with fortitude, a quality that is apparent in our faithful friend, The Horse.
From the Constellation of Words:
Fortitude is a good word to fit the description Manilius gives in his astrological influences for Orion:
“Orion will fashion alert minds and agile bodies, souls prompt to respond to duty’s call, and hearts which press on with unflagging energy in spite of every trial.” [Manilius, Astronomica, p.305.]
An apt description of Horse Energy, let us strive for these qualities as we navigate this transformational year.
The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon on January 30, 2014:
(AQUARIUS 11) DURING A SILENT HOUR, A MAN RECEIVES A NEW INSPIRATION WHICH MAY CHANGE HIS LIFE.
[Keynote: The need to rely on inner inspiration and guidance at the start of new developments.]
This Aquarian New Moon sextiles Uranus in Aries (Cardinal-Fire). As Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius (Fixed-Air), this provides a double dose of Aquarian/Uranian energy. Aquarius as the sign of Enlightenment and Brotherhood, further emphasizes forward movement and progressive thinking.
There is a great deal of feminine energy in play at this New Moon as Venus and the Asteroid Goddesses are key figures. As she slows down, readying herself to Station Direct on the day of the Chinese New Year, Venus is at her most powerful in conjunction with Pluto at 12-13 Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth) and they oppose Jupiter at 13 in Cancer (Cardinal-Water). Although Venus and Jupiter are benefic, and even in opposition bring benefits, as Pluto is involved, the energy of this aspect intensifies and brings up issues of jealousy, possession, concern over resources, and intense emotions. Let us use the energy of Venus in a positive manner as she changes to forward motion on January 31, and blesses the Year of the Horse with Love, Compassion and Empathy for ALL OF US.
Chiron at 12 Pisces (Mutable-Water) travels with Juno at 14 Pisces, and they oppose Pallas Athena at 11 Virgo. With the support of the Aquarian New Moon, this energy lends itself to innovative healing for those who are or have been victims. And we have all been victims at sometime in our lives, the key is to transmute the energy of victimization by owning our wounds and reclaiming our power; the power of Love, Forgiveness, Empathy and Compassion.
Chiron IS the Wounded Healer.
And Mars at 23 Libra (Cardinal-Air) travels with Vesta and Ceres, prompting action and communication of issues around nurturing and safety, possibly food safety issues. Also of note, between February, 6-14th Mars will be activating the degree of the Lunar Eclipse (26 Libra) occurring on April 15th, 2014. This will be a potent Lunar Eclipse, and due to Retrograde Motion, Vesta and Ceres will occupy the same degree at this New Moon and the Lunar Eclipse Moon; pay attention to events in your life during this time, especially with angles or planets at 25-26 degree of the Cardinal signs.
Mercury occupies the last degree of Aquarius at this New Moon; the 29th degree of any sign is a Karmic degree, and Mercury will retrograde back over this degree during the February 14th Full Moon, it will be within 1 degree exact of its position at this Aquarius New Moon, this is significant, Pay Attention to what comes up for you on these days.
Use the energy of this Electric Blue, Aquarian New Moon and the Chinese New Year of The Horse to set something new in motion; small or large, do something different, something provocative, something original, something fun!
As always, Stay in Your Heart…
In Love & Light,
New Years Day 2014 will set the tone for the entire year.
Pay close attention to what happens on this day, be present and listen to your intuition.
Pluto is prominent at this New Moon and Pluto is symbolic of deep, intense transformation. In the ancient world Pluto/Hades was the Ruler of the Underworld, all that lies underneath. Pluto is also about power, and control; powerlessness, and surrender.
Death, transformation, new life and great wealth are all gifts of Pluto.
When Pluto contacts a personal point or planet in one’s chart, the energy eradicates what is no longer conducive to our soul’s evolution; be it personal or collective or both. Many times the ego and soul are in conflict about what is no longer part of our Spiritual growth; as the ego wants stability and known factors, deep change can be terrifying, and the ego attempts to hold on and control what is happening. Unfortunately, this can cause much pain and grief and change happens regardless of what the ego wants. We must discern the wisdom of when to fight for and when to let go.
The Sabian Symbol for the NEW MOON on January 1, 2014
(CAPRICORN 11) A LARGE GROUP OF PHEASANT ON A PRIVATE ESTATE
[Keynote: The refinement and propagation of aristocratic values by means of which man participates in the evolution of life toward ever more perfect forms of existence,
This New Year’s Day New Moon heralds a Cardinal Cross, associated with the element of Fire, it is quite dynamic and instigates action. The Sun, Moon, Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth) all occupy the same degree, this is a potent configuration. Mars at 11 degrees Libra (Cardinal-Air) squares this stubborn Capricorn New Moon and amps up the energy; there will be many, many fireworks this New Years Eve.
The other planets involved in the Cardinal Cross, are Uranus at 8 degrees Aries (Cardinal-Fire), and Jupiter is a little further away at 16 degrees Cancer (Cardinal-Water).
Although not part of this New Moon conjunction, Venus is also traveling through Capricorn, she is retrograde, and during this time we are rethinking love, beauty, relationships; when a planet retrogrades it brings about reflection of the energies that planet embodies. It presents us with a good time to look inward, and examine our motives, our concerns.
There may be issues at this New Moon that are related to the October 4th 2013 New Moon, recurring echoes related to another Cardinal Cross, with all the same players, only a slight variation in positions. Take care this New Years Eve, have fun and pay attention.
May 2014 Bring Light in our Hearts and Love to our Souls…
In Love & Light,
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the House….
More than likely, many creatures will be stirring, and doubtful if many will be dreaming of Sugarplums.
How are you feeling this Christmas Season?
As we celebrate this special day of goodwill toward others, we also reflect on the past year, 2013, and all that we are grateful for, the good as well as the bad.
We as a nation are in the process of deep change, and as we are Spiritually conscious, we must also be socially conscious, for we are all connected; what affects one, affects us all.
The energies continue to grind, there is no place for egoism here, only true humility, and surrender. We are caught up in the flow of change, whether we like it or not, whether we are ready or not. The energies move us through our stuff, our complexes, our egoism, and elevates our consciousness to a higher level, slowly, ever so slowly, and at times painfully.
The celestial energies in play on Christmas day do not portend a happy, joyous holiday. More than likely there will be many surprises, hopefully pleasant, but considering the past few weeks of intensity which culminates on Christmas Day, we may be feeling overwhelmed, out-of-sorts, angry or depressed.
The ongoing Uranus/Pluto square has been activated by Mars for a few weeks now, and will be exact on Christmas Day. It also happens to be the Last Quarter Square Moon in Libra, further amplifying the intensity of this day.
No doubt, Christmas Day 2013 will be one to remember.
The Sabian Symbol for the SUN on December 25, 2013:
(CAPRICORN 4) A GROUP OF PEOPLE OUTFITTING A LARGE CANOE AT THE START OF A JOURNEY BY WATER
[Keynote: The ability to use natural resources and basic skills in order to achieve group-purpose.]
The Sabian Symbol for the MOON on December 25, 2013:
(LIBRA 4) AROUND A CAMPFIRE A GROUP OF YOUNG PEOPLE SIT IN SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
[Keynote: The necessity to unite with kindred spirits as one enters unbeaten paths illumined by the still-insecure light of a dawning intuition of new values.]
The Last Quarter Square Moon occurs early on Christmas, and as the day unfolds the Moon then moves into an exact conjunction with Mars at 9 Degrees Libra (Cardinal-Air), thus emphasizing its exact opposition to Uranus at 9 Degrees Aries (Cardinal-Fire). This day which begins with much excitement will continue throughout the evening.
In addition to the Moon and Mars, the Asteroid Goddesses Ceres and Vesta are also traveling through Libra, and with their calm wisdom and support, perhaps the energies of Mars will be tempered. And the active energy on this day will be one of caring, nurturing, and consciously holding the light of Spirit within our Hearts.
Our ever benevolent Jupiter continues to retrograde through Cancer (Cardinal-Water), perhaps exacerbating emotional reactions to events that occur on this day. Venus, our feminine benefactress, is also traveling backward through Capricorn (Cardinal-Earth), we re-examine what we value, and ponder the true meaning of our gifting.
And our Queen of Heaven, Juno moves through late Aquarius (Fixed-Air) and is close to Neptune in early Pisces (Mutable-Water) thus promoting much compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves on this day of celebration. Remember to be grateful for all of your blessings.
As always, Stay in Your Heart…
In Love & Light,
On this day in the US we celebrate Thanksgiving, a day to count our blessings and give thanks for the past year. There is much talk of Gratitude between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it is also the time of year when brotherly love, kindness to others and giving to the “needy” is encouraged (… in addition to shopping our little hearts out.)
This has always seemed strange to me; shouldn’t we strive to be grateful, kind to others and help people ALL YEAR LONG? It would seem that in the enlightened year of 2013, the majority of us do not practice Gratitude and Kindness on a regular basis.
Because a genuine practice of Gratitude means being grateful for every event, the good things that happen to us as well as the bad. Many of our greatest gifts come from terribly difficult people and events in our lives, for these are our greatest teachers. However, in this age of instant gratification, and pleasure, pleasure, pleasure, this is not a popular thought. Practicing Gratitude in every moment of our lives is not an easy thing to accomplish by any means, but I believe it is a worthy goal.
And then there is the double-edged sword of Kindness, practicing kindness when going through difficult times is challenging at the very least. Helping others, when we ourselves are in desperate need is not an easy feat to accomplish.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
― Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In astrology Saturn is known as the Lord of Karma, and brings the gift of accountability for our actions. Saturn’s gifts are not those of the ever expansive buoyancy of Jupiter; they are restriction, delay, disappointment, painful experiences, limits, and yes, no matter what anyone tells you, there are many limits on Earth, and for some of us more so than others. The positive aspects of Saturn are humility, patience, wisdom and compassion, and these are usually learned only by the experience of hard lessons.
It has always struck me as odd, that Saturn is such a breathtakingly beautiful planet, and yet the energies associated with it bring so many challenges in our lives.
Perhaps the gift of Saturn is finding the beauty in our most painful experiences.
The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon on December 2, 2013:
(SAGITTARIUS 11) IN THE LEFT SECTION OF AN ARCHAIC TEMPLE, A LAMP BURNS IN A CONTAINER SHAPED LIKE A HUMAN BODY
[Keynote: The value of “return to the body” advocated by modern thinkers in order to balance the stress on intellectuality and objective consciousness.]
The New Moon in Sagittarius (Mutable-Fire), is ruled by Jupiter, King of the Gods. Saturn (Cronus) was Jupiter’s father, and was usurped from the Throne of Power on Mount Olympus, by Jupiter. The expansiveness of the son being forever shadowed by the patriarchal father. Both of these energies affect our physical bodies, Saturn our structure (bones), Jupiter our muscles (movement), these energies, unlike the outer planets, are very much immersed in the material planes of Gaia.
The New Moon trines Uranus in Aries (Cardinal-Fire) and squares the wounded healer, Chiron in Pisces (Mutable-Water). This New Moon may bring us new ideas in medical innovation, or energy healing. It may also bring obstacles to the relief efforts for Typhoon Haiyan refugees, as well as victims of the devastation in the US brought by massive tornadoes in the Midwest earlier this month.
Chiron reveals our deepest wounding, and although this New Moon may bring obstacles, it connects with Uranus in Aries, this aspect prompts innovation, brilliant flashes of intuition, and in the pioneering sign of Aries, opens new pathways to healing our wounds.
To further support healing, Saturn in Scorpio (Fixed-Water), trines Jupiter in Cancer (Cardinal-Water) and they both widely trine Chiron in Pisces (Mutable-Water), forming a Grand Water Trine. Trines provide us with an easy flow of energy, much can be accomplished during this time. Mercury is moving through the late degrees of Scorpio, thus promoting deep, intense emotional communication for healing.
This Lunation also connects with the Asteroid Goddess Ceres at 11 Libra (Cardinal-Air) providing further support for nurturing and healing. The last few months have been intense, as the energies grind down our personal and collective shadows, the continual pressure eases up at this Jupiter ruled New Moon.
“Water is the driving force in nature.”
― Leonardo da Vinci
On November 9, 2013 the First Quarter Moon occurred in Aquarius (Fixed-Air), squaring the Sun in Scorpio (Fixed-Water). This day produced a catastrophic Typhoon barreling in from the vast Pacific, and devastating the Philippines. We send Healing Energy and Love to this area, as they recover from massive devastation and loss of life.
The Typhoon occurred at the First Quarter Moon, the midpoint between the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on November 3 and Full Moon in Taurus on November 17. The Full Moon in Taurus will be in close proximity to The Pleiades.
The Pleiades is quite prominent in both hemispheres in the night sky; it is a beautiful Star Cluster located in the constellation of Taurus, and is composed of several prominent stars, sometimes called the Seven Sisters. There is much myth and lore from many cultures, surrounding this particular celestial configuration.
In Astrology, the Pleiades are known as fixed stars; various fixed stars have been used in charts since ancient times, in addition to the Sun, Moon and planets. Many associations of the fixed stars originate from the ancient worlds of China, and Saudi Arabia.
Known as “Rainy Stars”. They were also connected with traditions of the Flood found among widely separated nations.
The Pleiades causes bereavement, mourning, sorrows and tragedies. [The Living Stars, Dr. Eric Morse, p.39.]
In Esoteric literature the Pleiades are said to be very much connected to Earth and Humanity through telepathic communication, and much of this literature implies benevolent associations. It is an interesting juxtaposition to the Ancient’s perception of cruel and malevolent energy emanating from this Star Cluster.
There has been, and will be much celestial activity between the Solar Eclipse and Full Moon: we have the Sun and Saturn traveling through Scorpio (Fixed-Water), and Jupiter station Retrograde in Cancer (Cardinal-Water) on November 6, Neptune in Pisces (Mutable-Water) Station Direct on November 13, and Mercury in Scorpio (Fixed-Water) Station Direct on November 10, and the wounded healer Chiron also moving through Pisces; with so much celestial energy in the Water Element, this provided ample opportunity for a massive storm associated with the sea.
We can read the stars, and interpret the energies, but the more important question: What is the meaning of events such as these, and the subsequent massive loss of life and devastation?
How do we glean meaning from an event that appears so random and meaningless?
Do events such as these bring forth our humanity, as we empathize with the pain of those enduring so much loss and devastation?
The Sabian Symbol for the SOLAR ECIPSE on November 3, is quite significant in relation to Typhoon Haiyan:
(SCORPIO 11) A DROWNING MAN IS BEING RESCUED
[Keynote: The deep concern of the social group for the safety of individuals.]
“A man risks his life to save another: this is love, based on a sense of responsibility produced by a vivid sense of interrelatedness.”
Donating to the relief efforts will help, however, taking a moment from our busy lives and opening our hearts and CONSCIOUSLY sending Love and Healing Energy (Visualize the colors Green and Pink) to the people of the Philippines will help tremendously.
The Sabian Symbol for the SUN at the Taurus Full Moon on November 17 2013:
(SCORPIO 26) AMERICAN INDIANS MAKING CAMP AFTER MOVING INTO A NEW TERRITORY
[Keynote: The ability to adjust swiftly to a new situation by tuning in to its requirements.]
The Sabian Symbol for the MOON at the Taurus Full Moon on November 17 2013:
(TAURUS 26) A SPANISH GALLANT SERENADES HIS BELOVED
[Keynote: The ritualization of individual desires.]
As already mentioned above, we have many planets traveling through the Element of Water at this Full Moon; the Sun, Mercury, Saturn and the North Node in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer and Neptune in Pisces.
Although confusion will abound during the initial rescue efforts, Mars traveling through Virgo (Mutable-Earth), will offer a great deal of energy coordinating relief efforts, as Virgo is a Master of analysis and logistics. The Asteroid Goddess Pallas Athena, our strategist, has also just entered Virgo and will reinforce the efforts of Mars.
The Moon in Taurus (Fixed-Earth), will carry through and hold the energy of Mars to get the job done, Taurus is the Master of acquiring Resources, and this Moon will provide THE PEOPLE with what they need.
And Venus travels through Capricorn, close to Pluto, the God of Death and Destruction. Her conjunction with Pluto activates the ongoing, intensely transformational Uranus/Pluto square. Here with Venus, we must believe in the Power of Love and know that no one of us ever truly dies, but are transformed and continue our journey in a way, that we in this world, do not yet fully understand; we have Faith and in our Hearts know this to be true.
No one is ever truly lost ― Love is the continuum.
